Just as many people, I have received many gifts ever since I remembered. I cherish each gift that I get, but some of them, in my opinion, are the most precious ones.
I can still remember on my birthday of last year, I got a gift from one of my best friends in senior high school. It was a quill pen with a bottle of ink. I was excited and extremely surprised when I saw the present, as I really wanted to get a quill pen but I did not tell my friend about it! Moreover, the pen was made in Britain and it was mailed to China from Britain. As a big fan of Harry Potter, I truly love this gift. However, there is one more reason why I cherish it as one of the most precious gifts that I have got. After asking my friend, I got to know how she got this present. She told me that she knew I love Harry Potter very much and I have a hobby of collecting pretty pens, so she decided to buy a special present for me. She contacted one of our classmates who went to study in the UK and asked her to buy a quill pen that was made in the hometown of Harry Potter, and then mail it to her. Her action was extremely touching for me. Now, I regard the quill pen as a representation of our deep friendship and I would keep it forever.
I once thought the quill pen would be the only one gift that has so much significance for me, until several days before, which was also my birthday, I got another gift that I believe I would cherish for a life time. It was a video from the boys in our group. I have to admit that it was a big surprise. In my own experience, the birthday gifts are usually some small objects, such as a candle, a pen, a toy, a music-box and so on. These were the most common gifts I have received or sent. Therefore, I have never thought of receiving a video as a birthday gift. When I watched the video, I was totally moved. I could tell from the video that you must have spent a lot of time on making it, as the songs sounded so nice and your performances were also brilliant! Actually, I am not a talkative or active person and I did not expect that you would put so much effort in preparing such a gift for me. I was surprised and happy! (^o^) Thank you very much!
In the end, I would like to say that I am really grateful for what you have done. I would keep the video and cherish our friendship forever!
I fully understand your feelings! How lucky you are to have two such sweet presents. I like Harry Potter too when I was younger. It even became my habit to go to the cinema to watch it every year. When I went to the Warner Bros' special amusement park in Australia, I spent almost all my money on the souvenirs of Harry Potter especially the magic equipment. I also think birthday gifts from friends and family are precious. No matter what it is, no matter how much it costs, even a text message, an email or a phone call is of great significance. When we are small, birthday refers to cake, party, blessings and presents, but as a grow-up, it may have more meanings. It means we should shoulder more responsibilities, be more brave and more mature. All these probably can be regarded as the gifts we give to ourselves, I suppose.

Every precious gift always related to some unforgettable experience and precious relation. Sometimes though the gift is not very expensive, the feelings that the one puts into the gift are what really moved us. Though we cannot contact them frequently, at least the person is in our heart and we can treasure it for a long time. I am very happy you can enjoy every birthday.

What lovely memories it`ll give you when the day comes and all of you go separate ways. You`ve a few more months to enjoy their company!

Yes, maybe the gift that contains one’s efforts and blessing is the best birthday present regardless of its price. Money can buy something but it is just not the scale of relationships. I agree with Haoyan that even the simplest gift such as a handmade card is more precious than luxuries, for that gift means someone cares about us and he devotes his efforts and time to a present that is for us. There is hardly any sweeter feeling in the world than knowing we are something in some people’s eyes.

Though you think you are quiet and not very talktive, many classmates also remember your birthday because we are a big family and everyone is important and cannot be ignored. For your gift of the quill pen, I think it is really a wonderful gift as it contain the considerable thoughts of your best friends. You are so lucky to have good friends like that and I hope you can maintain your friendship and cherish it forever. I hope our group members will be good friends forever and let our friendship be a valuable and memoriable thing.
