Yesterday I went to Labrador Nature Reserve and found aLodge near it. There lived a groupof boys and girls. I stepped into it leading by my curiosity. To my big surprise, they lived a happy life with no anxious. They were so hospitable that theytreated me a big meal. After the grand banquet, we talked about our livingconditions. They told me they lived in a two or three people’s room which everyfive people formed a bigger room. There were snack and colorful drinking everyday. Games and all kinds of activities were organized. Happiness and harmonyspread over the lodge. It was fascinating, I thought in my mind. Then I beganto talk about my hostel, river valley hostel. “The security in River Valleyhostel is of the most important thing” I said, “Others can rarely get into it.I live will one roommate and every four people share a washroom which has ashower-room.” “Woo!” I heard their surprised voice. I went on “There is astandard playground, an indoor badminton court and an outdoor tennis court inRV. We can also play table tennis in the indoor court.” “Really?” “Yeah. Footballmatch are held on the grass land on the playground frequently.” “It is so nice.I’d like to live there.” Someone said, “Yeah, I agree with you.” The happinessin LabradorLodge began to decrease. Suddenly one boystood up and said, “Labrador Lodge is thebest. We have the best location to get to the center of the city and there is aNature Reserve here near which we can wait for sunset. The most important weare free than RV.” “YEAH!” Boys and girls there cheered. Soon it was time formy leaving, and I became good friends with that group of people. They invitedme to pay a visit again.
I do learn a lesson from this interesting experience. We should notmerely admire others and ignore where we are and what we have. It is importantto enjoy what we have and find out what our advance is. Appreciating what we have and overcoming whatwe do not have, that is the way to live.
You have learned a very deep principle through a very small thing and I really agree with you. Everyone has his own features, so we should look inside ourselves first to find our own advantages but not just admire what others have. Just let us ignore what we cannot change and make ourselves shine!
ReplyDeleteWell, first of all, I have to say that the title of your blog is very attractive and interesting. As one of students living in Labrador Lodge, I am happy that you find our life in LL full of happiness and harmony. It really is! (^•^) Moreover, I agree with you on your idea in this blog. I also think that we shouldn’t just admire others and ignore all our advantages. That is not fair to ourselves and we would not gain happiness from it. Just as the different hostels we live, both RV and LL have their pros and cons, so there is no need to admire or envy. We may just accept and love where we live and so we will find that life is colourful. By the way, welcome to Labrador Lodge again! (^-^)
ReplyDeleteAt first , I did not feel good when I know boys had a better living condition. However, I started to love Labrador lodge sin New Year's day because boys had to go back early while girls can stay outside and enjoy the wonderful firework show. I think what you have written does make sense. We need to appreciate what we have. With a grateful mind, we will live a happier life. By the way, your title is extremely attractive.
ReplyDeleteI can understand your feelings very well.Though you live far away from the NUS, though RV has much more strict rules than LL, the advanced living condition and different sports equipment is better than LL.We also admire you very much. Each has its own advantages, whether living in LL or RV,we can also have a happy mood. Your title may attract all the boys and girls coming in to see what's the secret of LL.That's a big success of this blog.Next time you come to LL,I will take you to play~~~houhouhou~~~~(@^_^@)~
ReplyDeleteTell you the truth, your title did attract me! After reading your blogger, I really think I should be satisfied with the living condition in RV instead of complaining about it all the time. Many a time in our life, it is how we look at the outside world that determines how happy we are.
