It was in primary school that I began to learn English. At that time, I loved English because those lessons were so interesting. Teachers seldom asked us to memorize vocabulary and the course was als composed of games, music and videos. To be honest,I loved English lessons more than the language itself.
As I entered junior middle school, things changed. We had dictation regularly and were forced to listen to the tape everyday. Far from involving games, the course focused more on grammar. To some extent,I’m bored with English during that period. Although the English class was monotonous,I took it serious, which helped me to build a strong foundation for my further study.
After that,I came to high school, where I started to love English songs and movies. Since some sentences can hardly be translated into Chinese specifically,I came up with the idea to understand the meaning by myself instead of relying on the caption. It was a tough task. However, owe to my efforts in junior middle school,it was not untouchable but challenging to me. The more time I spent on English, the more interested I felt. Gradually,I did not only learn English for the convenience of watching film ,but for interest as well. In general,I began to love English!
The whole process is incredible but it has truly happened. Even now I can not tell the reason why I love English exactly, but I guess the charm of English will come out provided people are willing to learn it.
Your blogger is excellent both in vocabulary and grammar. You have used many advanced sentence structures that make this passage well-read.The process of learning English is really authentic, and it recalled my memory.
ReplyDeleteGood experience, good writing.
ReplyDeleteI admire you that you can put your heart in something important but boring to you. This character may lead you to a big success.
I have a question: Do you read to caption when you watch a movie? If so, the caption is in English or Chinese or both?
I'd like to learn from you to challenge myself too.
I think I read both the English and Chinese caption.Mostly lyrics and lines are not very difficult ,but there may be some informal expressions which I'm not familiar with.So I will check the Chinese caption.
DeleteA good experience is honor to be memorized. You are so general that others can learn from your experience. That is it also, interest is the best teacher.
ReplyDeleteThis expereience is really similar to mine. Maybe all of us has ecperienced such a process. Considering how we have learnt in China, maybe it is the solid foundation that heip us to go further.

What a similar experience! I do have some sympathy with you! You have done a great job which is both good in vocabulary and grammar, and i think it must have something to do with your interest in learning English. Isn't that right? )^0^(
